Clubs & Activities
Master list of every lunchtime and after-school club at St Mary's College: days, times, venues, year levels and the teacher in charge, plus how to sign up and pick-up rules.
Beyond sport and music, St Mary's College runs more than a dozen clubs across Prep to Year 12, all led by College staff and almost all free of charge. Clubs are where students find their people — whether that is over a chessboard in the Library, a soldering iron in the STEM Lab or a rehearsal in the Drama Studio. This page is the master list; individual clubs with competitions have their own pages linked below.

Note that Senior School finishes at 2:45pm on Wednesdays for staff professional learning, so Wednesday after-school activities for Senior students begin at 3:30pm as usual but students are supervised in the Library beforehand.
How to sign up
- Online: Parent Portal > Forms > "Co-curricular Clubs". Tick the clubs your child wishes to join; the teacher in charge receives the list and confirms by Portal notice within a week.
- In person: students may simply turn up and speak with the teacher at the first session; Junior students should bring a signed note if they will be staying after 3:20pm.
- Sign-ups are open all year. Most clubs welcome new members at the start of any term; Tournament of Minds teams are set at the beginning of Term 2, and DAV Debating teams are registered in Term 1 (see the Debating page).
- Stage Band and Senior Chamber Choir are the only auditioned groups — details on the Ensembles page.
Cost
Clubs are free with these exceptions: Robotics/STEM Club carries a $40 per year materials levy; interschool chess tournaments cost $25 per event; DAV Debating registration and Tournament of Minds entry fees are covered by the College. Any excursion associated with a club (for example a RoboCup or chess zone day) requires a permission form and payment through the Parent Portal.
Supervision and pick-up
- Lunchtime clubs run inside the normal school day; students eat first and then attend.
- After-school clubs are supervised by the named teacher until the finishing time shown. Junior students (Prep–Year 6) must be collected from the club venue by an adult at the finishing time — not from Kiss-and-Drop, which closes at 3:45pm. See Kiss-and-Drop & Parking.
- Junior students not collected within 15 minutes of a club finishing are taken to After School Care in the Hall Annexe and a casual session is charged — see OSHC.
- Senior students may make their own way home; college buses depart at 3:35pm, so students staying for clubs will need alternative transport (see School Buses & Transport).
- If a club is cancelled (teacher absence, extreme weather), families are notified by Portal notice by 12:00pm that day.
