Year 9 City Experience – Final Details (31 August – 4 September)
Final arrangements for Year 9 City Experience week, Monday 31 August – Friday 4 September 2026: daily departure times, itinerary, Myki, uniform, phones and the consent form due Friday 21 August.
Year 9 City Experience runs Monday 31 August – Friday 4 September 2026. Students spend the week learning to navigate Melbourne independently in small supervised groups, with a different focus each day. Consent and medical forms are on the Parent Portal and are due Friday 21 August 2026 (late forms to the Senior office). Program background: Year 9 City Experience.
Daily times
- Depart 8:15am sharp each day from the Senior gate; we walk to Wattle Creek station and travel by train. Students arriving after 8:15am must go to the Senior office — they cannot travel to the city alone.
- Return to the Senior gate at approximately 3:15pm. Buses and Kiss-and-Drop operate as normal.

What to bring
- Myki – full-fare student Myki with at least $20 loaded. Please check the balance on Sunday night.
- Lunch and snacks, or $15 per day to buy lunch.
- Drink bottle, small backpack, weather-appropriate layers and a compact umbrella.
Uniform
College sport uniform with sport tracksuit every day of the week. No casual clothes. Runners must be suitable for walking 8–10 km a day.
Phones
Phones may be used for maps, timetables and group check-ins during the day under teacher direction. The normal mobile phone policy applies on the train and at the College.
Each group has a teacher leader and checks in every 60 minutes. Any student who is unwell on the day should be reported absent before 8:00am via the Portal or absentee line.
