The timetable for Year 12 Practice Exams (Tuesday 25 – Friday 28 August 2026) is now on the Learning Hub and Parent Portal. Sessions run at 9:00am and 1:30pm in the Hall; here is what students need to know.

Updated 31 July 2026· For Year 12

The Year 12 Practice Exam timetable has been published today on the Learning Hub (Assessment Calendar → Year 12) and the Parent Portal. Practice exams run Tuesday 25 – Friday 28 August 2026 in Mary MacKillop Hall and are the closest rehearsal students get for the VCAA written exams starting Wednesday 28 October. Please treat them exactly like the real thing. Preparation advice is on Practice Exams – Year 12, and the full grid is at Exam Timetables 2026.

Sessions

  • Morning session: 9:00am start (reading time from 8:45am).
  • Afternoon session: 1:30pm start (reading time from 1:15pm).
  • Papers run for the full VCAA duration of each study — mostly 2 hours plus 15 minutes reading.
  • Arrive 20 minutes early and wait quietly in the Hall foyer.

Attendance and study arrangements

  • Year 12 students attend the College only for their scheduled exams during the practice exam week. Normal Year 12 classes do not run.
  • Students may study at home between exams, or use the Library quiet study space, 8:30am–3:30pm. Teachers are available in the Senior staff room by appointment.
  • Missing an exam through illness requires a phone call to the Senior office before 9:00am and a medical certificate; a catch-up will be arranged in the following week.

What to wear and bring

  • Full winter uniform including blazer, as for any school day.
  • Only VCAA-approved equipment: pens, pencils, ruler, eraser, an approved calculator or CAS where permitted, and a clear water bottle. Approved reference materials only for those studies that permit them.
  • No phones, smart watches or earphones in the Hall. Bags are left in the Senior locker area.

After the exams

Marked papers and written feedback are returned in the Trial Exam Feedback Week beginning Monday 12 October 2026, followed by individual study-plan meetings with subject teachers. Students may still attend the Senior Athletics Carnival on Tuesday 8 September.
