Exam Timetables 2026
Full 2026 exam timetables for the Senior School: Year 12 Practice Exams (Tuesday 25 – Friday 28 August), Year 11 Exams (Monday 7 – Friday 11 September) and Years 7–10 Exams (Monday 30 November – Friday 4 December), plus exam rules and what to do if a student is sick.
This page holds the College examination timetables for the remainder of 2026 and the rules that apply to every exam. Individual student timetables (showing only the exams a student sits and the room) are published on the Learning Hub under Assessment → My Exams one week before each period. Where this page and a student's Learning Hub timetable differ, the Learning Hub version is correct — please check it the night before. VCAA external examinations for Year 12 (Wednesday 28 October – Wednesday 18 November 2026) are set by VCAA; each student receives a personal VCAA timetable in September.
Year 12 Practice Exams — Tuesday 25 to Friday 28 August 2026
Practice exams are compulsory for all Unit 3–4 students, including accelerating Year 11 students. Session 1 begins at 9:00am and Session 2 at 1:30pm; each includes 15 minutes of reading time. Venue: Mary MacKillop Hall unless shown otherwise. Normal classes do not run for Year 12 during this week. See Practice Exams Year 12 for preparation advice and feedback arrangements.

Students with two exams timetabled at the same time were emailed an alternative session by Mr James Whelan on Monday 17 August. Studio Arts, Drama and Music students complete practice performance or folio assessments with their teachers during the week instead of a written exam.
Year 11 Exams — Monday 7 to Friday 11 September 2026
Year 11 students attend school only for their exams and may study at home or in the Senior Study Centre at other times (sign in at the Senior Office). No exams are held on Tuesday 8 September — all Year 11 students attend the Senior Athletics Carnival at Ringwood Athletics Track. Exams are 1 hour 30 minutes plus 10 minutes reading time unless shown otherwise; Session 1 begins at 9:00am and Session 2 at 12:30pm. Venue: Mary MacKillop Hall.

Friday 11 September is House Spirit Day. Year 11 students sitting exams that day may wear casual clothes in their House colours — the one exception to the uniform rule below. Year 11 students accelerating a Unit 3–4 study sat that subject with Year 12 in the practice exam week. Year 11 exams are returned in class from Monday 14 September with written feedback.
Years 7–10 Exams — Monday 30 November to Friday 4 December 2026
Year 9 and 10 exams are held in Mary MacKillop Hall and the Sports Centre. Year 7 and 8 exams are held in normal classrooms during the timetabled lesson for that subject, supervised by the class teacher. Normal classes run around the exams. The Wednesday 2:45pm early finish applies.

Activities Week and the Year 10 Headstart program run from Monday 7 to Friday 11 December 2026. Reports are published on the Parent Portal on Wednesday 16 December 2026.
Exam rules — all year levels
- Arrive 15 minutes early. Students line up outside the venue in silence 15 minutes before the start time; late students are admitted only until the end of reading time and receive no extra time.
- Uniform: full College uniform is worn to all exams (winter uniform including blazer to and from school in Term 3; summer uniform with hat in Term 4). Sport uniform is not permitted on exam days unless a PE practical is timetabled.
- Bring: clear pencil case or plastic sleeve with blue or black pens, pencils, eraser, ruler; a clear water bottle with the label removed; student ID card.
- Calculators: CAS calculators are permitted only in Mathematics exams that allow them (Mathematical Methods Exam 2, General Mathematics, Specialist Exam 2, Year 10 Advanced Mathematics) and in Physics, Chemistry and Accounting where stated. Calculators must be cleared of stored notes; supervisors check. Year 7–9 students use scientific calculators only.
- Not permitted: mobile phones, smartwatches, earbuds, laptops (unless a special provision arrangement applies), correction fluid, dictionaries (except approved dictionaries in Italian and EAL).
- Students may not leave in the first 30 minutes or the last 15 minutes of any exam.
- Year 11 and 12 students may leave the campus after their final exam of the day once signed out at the Senior Office; Years 7–10 remain at school.
If a student is sick or absent
- A parent phones the Senior Office on (03) 9555 0100 (not the absentee line) before 9:00am on the day.
- Obtain a medical certificate dated the day of the exam.
- Year 11 and 12: the student sits the exam at the next Redemption Session (Tuesday or Thursday 3:30pm–5:30pm, Senior Study Centre). Year 12 practice exams missed through illness are sat at Redemption in the first week of Term 4.
- Years 7–10: the class teacher arranges a catch-up in the following week.
Exams missed without a medical certificate or prior approval from Mr Tom Brennan are recorded as Not Assessed and cannot be redeemed for a score. Students who fall ill during an exam should raise a hand; a supervisor will escort them to Sick Bay and the exam will be noted for special consideration.
