Everything Prep–Year 6 families need for the Junior Athletics Carnival and Prep–2 Mini Olympics on Friday 4 September 2026: times, what to wear and bring, lunch, parking and wet-weather plans.
The Junior Athletics Carnival is on Friday 4 September 2026 on the Main Oval, with the Prep–Year 2 Mini Olympics running the same morning on the Lower Field. It is a normal school day and all students attend. Parents are very welcome to come and cheer on their House. Background on how the carnival runs is on the Athletics Carnivals page.

Students arrive and are dismissed at the normal times (8:45am / 3:20pm). Parents who wish to take their child home at the end of the carnival may sign out with the class teacher from 2:45pm.
What to wear
- House polo in your House colour, sport shorts or sport tracksuit, white socks and runners.
- Navy wide-brim hat and sunscreen (apply before school). See Sport Uniform.
What to bring
- Drink bottle (there are refill stations at the Oval).
- Packed recess and lunch. Canteen lunch orders are not available for Years 3–6 on carnival day. Prep–2 lunch orders run as normal.
- A small towel or picnic rug for House areas.
Parents
- Please sign in at the Junior gate. Parking is on Chapel Road and surrounding streets; the Kiss-and-Drop zone must be kept clear.
- Age-champion ribbons are presented through the day, with the House Athletics Shield awarded at 2:30pm.
Wet weather
If the carnival is postponed (decision by 7:30am via Parent Portal and SMS), the backup date is Friday 11 September 2026, and students wear normal uniform on 4 September.
